Our Point of View

The best Thailand trip is not the most complicated one.

Thailand offers more range than almost anywhere in Asia: a capital with real cultural depth, two coastlines with different weather and character, a mountainous north, and islands that vary sharply from one another. That range is exactly why so many itineraries disappoint: trying to see everything produces a trip built around transfers instead of experiences.

In our view, luxury is created through pacing, sequencing and fit. The right regions belong in the right order, stays should suit how you actually travel, and the discipline to leave things out. Our work is helping you decide what belongs in your Thailand, and what doesn’t.

The Product, Made Visible

One Bangkok day, with the reasoning intact.

A private itinerary is not a list of reservations. It is a sequence of decisions about energy, timing, access and what deserves to be left open. This is how a first full day might breathe.

  1. 6:30am

Pak Khlong Talat before the city gathers pace

Meet a private guide at Bangkok's flower market while deliveries are still arriving. The early start avoids the heat and preserves the rest of the day.

  2. 9:00am

Return to the river by private boat

Breakfast follows back at the hotel. Wat Arun can be approached from the water, but only if energy is good. Nothing is added simply to fill the morning.

  3. Afternoon

    A protected interval

Lunch, the pool and time without a guide. Bangkok rewards curiosity, but jet lag and humidity make an overfilled first day an expensive mistake.

  4. Evening

    One reservation worth dressing for

Choose the table to fit the traveler, perhaps Sühring, Le Du Kaan or Côte by Mauro Colagreco, with timing and transport planned around the experience.

Where to Stay

The right stay changes the entire trip.

The question is rarely “which hotel is best.” It’s which kind of stay fits this chapter of the journey - and the answer often changes between regions.

How we choose stays
Luxury hotel
City chapters and short stays where location and service matter most.
Resort
Contained coastal living with dining, wellness and activity on property.
Staffed private villa
Space, privacy and a team of your own - often the right call for families and groups.
Resort residence
Villa space with resort infrastructure behind it. A useful middle path.
Wellness retreat
Structured programs, not just a good spa. A fundamentally different kind of stay.
Remote tented camp
The far north's rarest experience - worth the transfer time, for the right traveler.

Signature Experiences

Arranged privately. Chosen for fit.

Private Phang Nga Bay by Yacht

Limestone karsts, quiet beaches and lunch set on the sand - with the day shaped around tides, light and how much you want to do.

Bangkok by River and by Table

Compare Capella Bangkok with the Mandarin Oriental, begin at Pak Khlong Talat before the heat, travel by private teak boat and reserve serious dining for the evening.

Northern Craft & Culture

Temples, artisan studios, textiles and design in Chiang Mai - with guides who open doors rather than recite dates.

Private-Pool Villa Living

Staffed residences with private chefs, estate managers and provisioning handled before you arrive.

Dedicated Wellness Programming

RAKxa, Chiva-Som, Kamalaya, Amanpuri and Mangosteen approach wellness differently. We distinguish integrative diagnostics, destination wellness, resort immersions and Ayurveda before recommending one.

The Golden Triangle

Four Seasons Tented Camp, Mekong landscapes and carefully screened elephant programs. We examine handling rules, guest contact, herd welfare and veterinary oversight rather than relying on an ethical label.

How We Work

One destination, taken seriously.

  • Depth, destination by destination

Thailand is approached as its own field of expertise: seasons, regions, stays, guides and local relationships understood in context, not reduced to generic luxury inventory.

  • Recommendations with reasons

We compare the destination, exact accommodation, service style and logistics first. Where a commercial relationship applies, we disclose it.

  • Discretion by design

We accommodate assistants and advisors as the primary contact and limit trip details to the people needed to plan the journey. Specific handling protocols are agreed before engagement.

  • Accountability across the journey

We design the route, evaluate the exact stays, coordinate the private elements and identify realistic alternatives when weather or logistics may change the plan.

Questions, Answered Plainly

Frequently asked questions

What does a private Thailand travel designer do?

We design the entire journey around you: which regions to combine, in what order, at what pace, where to stay, what to experience and how every transfer works. The result is a single considered plan rather than a list of options - with the details coordinated through departure.

Can you arrange hotels and private villas?

Yes. We work across luxury hotels, resorts, staffed private villas, resort residences, wellness retreats and tented camps - and, just as importantly, we advise on which type of stay fits each chapter of the trip. A villa and a resort solve different problems, and the right answer often changes between regions.

Can you plan travel for families and multigenerational groups?

Yes. Family journeys are designed around residences and connecting accommodations, private guides, flexible daily scheduling, dietary needs, water safety and pacing that works for mixed ages - including days structured so grandparents, parents and children each get what they came for.

Is Phuket or Koh Samui better?

Neither, until we know the traveler. Phuket offers greater villa inventory, connectivity and family flexibility, and its character changes significantly by area. Koh Samui generally feels softer and more contained, and aligns naturally with couples, private-pool resort stays and wellness. The two coasts also follow different weather patterns, which can decide the question for you depending on your dates.

How many destinations should be included in one Thailand trip?

Usually two or three regions across ten to fourteen nights. Every additional region costs at least half a travel day, and trips built around transfers rarely feel luxurious. We would rather help you go deeper in fewer places than check more boxes.

What is the best time to visit Thailand?

It depends on the regions in your itinerary. The Andaman coast (Phuket, Phang Nga, Krabi) is generally at its best from roughly November through April. The Gulf coast follows a different pattern: Koh Samui's calmest, clearest sea conditions usually run from mid-December through April, often extending into August, with October and November typically the wettest months. Northern Thailand is most comfortable in the cool season. We sequence the itinerary around the weather your dates allow.

Can you plan wellness-focused travel?

Yes - and we distinguish carefully between a luxury resort with a good spa, a wellness-forward resort, a dedicated destination wellness retreat and an integrative or diagnostics-oriented program. They are fundamentally different experiences. All programs are delivered by the retreats themselves, and nothing we share constitutes medical advice.

How far in advance should a luxury Thailand trip be planned?

For peak season - roughly mid-December through February - four to six months ahead protects the best villa and suite inventory. Shorter timelines are workable, but they narrow the options, particularly for multi-bedroom villas and the most sought-after retreats.

Can an executive assistant plan on behalf of the traveler?

Yes, and it is common. We provide clear written summaries, present decisions in a form that is easy to bring to a principal, keep communication to your preferred channel and treat every detail of the trip as confidential.

How much should a private luxury Thailand trip cost?

There is no honest single number. The main variables are the number of regions, the type of stay (a staffed multi-bedroom villa and a resort suite price very differently), the season, the size of the group and how much private programming the trip includes. As directional context, the investment brackets on our consultation form run from under $25,000 to more than $250,000 in land arrangements, excluding international airfare. We will tell you early and plainly what your priorities imply.

Why use a travel designer instead of booking directly?

A hotel is responsible for its own property. We are responsible for the decisions between properties: which regions belong together, whether a transfer is worth it, which exact stay fits the traveler, and how guides, boats, meals and recovery time work as one journey. We reduce research and coordination while keeping the important choices visible to you.

Will I lose control of the trip if a designer handles it?

No. We make clear recommendations and explain the reasoning, but the consequential decisions remain yours. The purpose is to reduce research, option fatigue and fragmented coordination, not to remove your authorship from the journey.

What happens if weather or logistics change the plan?

Good design anticipates uncertainty. We use realistic transfer margins, avoid routes that depend on fragile connections and identify considered alternatives for weather-sensitive days. The exact support and communication model during travel is confirmed as part of the engagement before booking.
