No. 03 · The complete journey
Grand North-to-South
Thailand.
River city, Lanna culture, remote tented camp and Andaman coast, Thailand in real depth, without turning the journey into a race.
Length
14 nights / 15 days
Route
4 distinct regions
Best window
November–February
Pace
Expansive, considered
Ideal for
Deep first visits · milestone journeys
Why this route works
Breadth, without losing the thread.
Each stop changes the language of the trip: Bangkok by river, Chiang Mai through living culture, the Golden Triangle through landscape and camp life, then five nights on the Andaman coast. Three-night minimums keep the north meaningful; the long finish restores the balance.
The journey
Fifteen days. Four complete chapters.

01
Bangkok
3 nights
River · old city · food & design

02
Chiang Mai
3 nights
Lanna culture · craft · countryside

03
Golden Triangle
3 nights
Mekong · jungle · conservation

04
Phuket
5 nights
Private yacht · pool · Andaman quiet
01
Bangkok
Arrive by the river
Private airport welcome, direct riverfront transfer and a protected afternoon. The first evening stays close, quiet and entirely optional.
02
Bangkok
The old city from the water
Begin early by private boat, pairing Wat Arun and the old city with smaller river communities and a guide who gives the city context without overloading the day.
03
Bangkok
Follow your curiosity
Choose food and markets, contemporary art and design, architecture or a slower wellness-led city day. Dinner is arranged around appetite, not reputation alone.
04
Chiang Mai
North to Lanna country
Fly to Chiang Mai and settle among rice paddies and mountain air. Touring waits until tomorrow; today is for lunch, the pool and the first change of pace.
05
Chiang Mai
Culture with living context
Explore temples, neighborhoods and artisan studios with a guide who connects belief, craft and contemporary northern life. End with a private Lanna dinner.
06
Chiang Mai
Countryside or complete pause
Choose a forest-and-village day, a serious cooking experience or time entirely at the resort. This flexibility keeps Chiang Mai from becoming another sightseeing block.
07
Golden Triangle
Deeper into the north
Travel overland toward Chiang Rai and the Mekong frontier, stopping only where it adds meaning. Complete the arrival by long-tail boat into the camp.
08
Golden Triangle
River country
Explore the border landscape and neighboring communities with the camp team, balancing guided activity with the rare pleasure of staying somewhere genuinely remote.
09
Golden Triangle
Conservation, then stillness
A conservation-led elephant experience, Mekong journey or slow camp day. We shape the choice around ethics, conditions and what the journey needs by this point.
10
Phuket
North to Andaman
Fly south, normally via Bangkok, and transfer directly to the west coast. This is a travel day by design; nothing is scheduled after arrival.
11
Phuket
A first day with no agenda
Pool, beach, spa and an unhurried meal. After three northern chapters, the itinerary now stops asking anything of you.
12
Phang Nga Bay
The bay, privately
Board a private yacht early for Phang Nga Bay, routing around light, tides and the busiest channels. Lunch and water time follow the conditions rather than a fixed circuit.
13
Phuket
Choose one more layer
Add Phuket Old Town, wellness, golf or another water day, or stay in the villa. The best choice is often the one that preserves the coast’s purpose.
14
Phuket
A final full day
Return to what you loved, with an optional private final dinner. No packing the last day with experiences simply because they fit.
15
Departure
Leave well
Private transfer to Phuket airport, coordinated around your onward flight and realistic international connection margins.
Suggested places to stay
Four stays. Four different reasons.
The hotels are not interchangeable decoration. Each one supports the purpose and pacing of its chapter.

Bangkok · 3 nights
Capella Bangkok
↗A low-rise riverfront retreat that places the Chao Phraya at the center of the opening chapter. Particularly strong for river views, villas and a calm arrival.

Chiang Mai · 3 nights
Four Seasons Chiang Mai
↗Rice paddies, Lanna-influenced pavilions and mountain air give the journey its cultural pause. Pool villas and residences also work well for families.

Golden Triangle · 3 nights
Four Seasons Tented Camp
↗A small camp reached by river, built around landscape, local culture and conservation-oriented experiences. This is the journey’s rarest stay, not simply another northern hotel.

Phuket · 5 nights
Amanpuri
↗A private peninsula, understated pavilions and villas, and enough resort depth to support five unhurried nights. Scheduled to reopen 14 September 2026 after enhancements.

Signature moments
The moments that justify the distance.
- Bangkok’s old city approached privately from the river.
- Northern craft and food with real local context.
- A long-tail arrival into the Golden Triangle camp.
- Phang Nga Bay by private yacht after the journey turns south.
Season & logistics
The cool season earns its reputation.
November through February gives the strongest overall alignment: more comfortable northern conditions and the Andaman coast in its best season. March and April can bring significant heat and haze in the north.
The Golden Triangle–Phuket flight day usually connects through Bangkok. We leave the arrival evening empty and preserve five coastal nights so the transfer never becomes the trip’s dominant memory.
Practical questions
Before you choose the grand route.
Is four regions too much for two weeks?
Not when the trip is a full 14 nights and every chapter receives at least three nights. This is the maximum movement we recommend at this length; adding another island or city would undermine the route.
Why include both Chiang Mai and the Golden Triangle?
They solve different problems. Chiang Mai offers cultural density, craft and food; the Golden Triangle offers remoteness, landscape and a camp-centered experience. Include both only when the trip is long enough to let those differences register.
When is this itinerary at its best?
November through February is the cleanest overall window. March and April require careful consideration because northern heat and haze can materially affect the experience. Phuket is generally strongest from November through April.
Can this be shortened?
At 12 nights, remove either Chiang Mai or the Golden Triangle rather than compressing all four chapters. A 10-night version should follow the flagship three-region route instead.
